The Minchinhampton Players’ first production – ‘Murdered to Death’ by Peter Gordon – took place on November 10 and 11 and was extremely well received. Following the show, complete strangers would see one of the actors walking his dog on the common and hail him cheerily: ‘Here,’ they’d say, ‘you’re that prat aren’t you?’
Heartened by this high level of recognition, the Players are embarking on a second production, a revue written and performed by themselves. Is this a step too far? Will hubris strike them down? The only way to get answers to these questions is to come and see ‘Home Groan’ (March 23 and 24) and judge for yourself.
